A new service and public register for verified precious metal, from brand and website to the app behind it.
Who it’s for
People buying and selling bullion and coins, marketplace sellers, collectors, and executors handling inherited items.
The challenge
Buying precious metal from a stranger usually means trusting a photo and a promise. Metal Stack needed to make verification permanent, public and checkable by anyone, without asking customers to understand cryptography.
What we built
Items are tested on the bench (visual inspection, weight, dimensions, magnet, conductivity and XRF), then sealed with a tamper-evident hologram and a QR-linked card. Every result goes into a permanent public record, timestamped on the Bitcoin blockchain. The verification app handles card lookups, audit trails, in-browser proof checks, embeddable badges and a public API.

How we approached it
Trust by design: plain explanations of what is checked and what isn’t, records anyone can verify independently, and no tokens or wallets for customers to worry about.
